Overview
The Bus Comes When It Wants. That Should Not Still Be True in 2026.
Problem statement
Priya leaves home at 8:15 to catch her 8:22 bus. Some days it comes early and she misses it. Some days it’s late and she reaches work late. Most days, she’s just guessing.
She tried maps. Outdated.
She tried apps. Unreliable.
She asked people. No one knows.
This isn’t one city. It’s every commuter, every route, every day—people building buffer time just to deal with uncertainty.
Build a coding-first solution that gives commuters real-time, reliable, and actionable information about their ride. Not static routes. Not old data.
Live signals. Smart decisions. Instant clarity—right in their pocket.
Bonus if it works on low data, basic phones, or even WhatsApp—because real users don’t always have perfect tech
Deliverables
- Build a working, code-based solution (app, web app, or bot — no static prototypes)
- Use real or simulated live data (APIs, GPS streams, or mock pipelines)
- Provide actionable output — ETA, delays, or best commute option
- Implement logic/prediction layer (not just displaying data)
- Must be usable on low data / basic devices (lightweight, fast)
- Include a testable demo with a real commute scenario
- Share code repository (GitHub) or live working link
- Include everything on wooble portfolio as part of submission process
Evaluation criteria
- Usefulness — would a daily commuter actually rely on this?
- Accuracy — are the timings and updates reliable?
- Simplicity — easy to use, no confusion
- Performance — fast and works well on basic devices
